Review #11 – Buffalo Trace

Review #: 11
Description: Buffalo Trace
Spirit: Bourbon

Background: Heralding from the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, the flagship product is one that is highly regarded, yet also the subject of controversy with the varying allocation across the country. Coming from the lower rye, Buffalo Trace Bourbon Mashbill #1, this whiskey is claimed to be around the 8 year mark. When found in stock and MSRP, you are looking at a ~$25 bottle but some shops mark it up to $60+. So lets see what it actually is worth.

Thoughts: Well, this did not disappoint. Sweet and fruity, like mashbill #1 typically brings. Complimented well with baking spices. This is a quality bourbon and completely understandable why people enjoy it. However, it still is supposed to be on the cheaper side and doesn’t try to be anything it’s not. For under $30, it’s great and worth it, but I wouldn’t pay a premium for it.
