Description: Privateer Distiller’s Drawer #30 “Sea Mist”

Background: Privateer is a rum distillery operating out of Ipswich, MA. Their “Distiller’s Drawer” line is meant to mark the master distiller’s favorite creations and has subsequently become entwined with their private selection program. “Sea Mist” is the 30th release, this barrel was initially planned to be used for blends but was picked out to be bottled independently. It was aged for 3 years and 9 months in neutral oak before being bottled without chilfilltration or any additives.

Taste – Lemon, honey, light and floral

Would I buy a bottle? Yes
Thoughts: I love what Privateer is doing with all these different releases and single barrels. The best way to sum this one up is that it’s very delicate, but not in a way that mutes any of the flavors. It is so well connected and balanced from nose to finish. This was highly enjoyable but I can see how you would need to be in the mood to reach for this one.
