Review #240 – Knob Creek Single Barrel: NH Merrimack County

Review #240 – Knob Creek Single Barrel: NH Merrimack County

Review #: 240
Description: Knob Creek Single Barrel: NH Merrimack County
Spirit: Bourbon

Background: Another Knob Creek Single Barrel expression, this time coming from New Hampshire’s Merrickmack County.  Distilled on October 14th, 2004 and aged in warehouse W-I, floor F-04, and rick R-018 before bottling on April 27th, 2019.  Let’s see how it tastes.

Distillery – Jim Beam

Bottler – Jim Beam

Brand – Knob Creek

Selection – NH Merrimack County

ABV – 60%

Age – 14 Years 6 Months

Nose – Loads of brown sugar, cinnamon-sugar, rich leather and oak, some dark cherries and sweet apples in there too
Taste – Brown sugar, maple syrup, caramel vanilla, dark and rich stone fruits
Finish – Toasted oak, chocolate covered cherries, tobacco, in the very back is some of that Beam roasted peanut, little bit of fruity pebbles cereal

Score: 7
Would I buy a bottle? Yes

Thoughts: Another banger of a Knob Creek Single Barrel.  This one is much darker and fruiter compared to the last review.  There is a little bit of the Beam nuttiness but even if you don’t like peanuts, I don’t think this should deter you.  Picking this up in NH for about $43 with no tax, this might be one of the greatest value bottles I have ever bought.
