Nose – Pretty bright and earthy upfront, melon rind, wet tree bark, cinnamon raisin bread, prickly ginger, slight peated malt with almost a mentholy character to it
Taste – Ooof, pretty dry and grainy, there’s a tiny bready sweetness but it is quickly taken up by sawdust
Finish – Dry, bitter grain, chalky oak, battery acid, moldy cereal. Long acrid finish that I desperately want to get rid of
Score: 1
Would I buy a bottle? Absolutely not
Thoughts: Coming into this series, I thought this might be one of the better options. Boy was I wrong. The nose was fairly nice and set me up for hope, but immediately upon sipping all that interesting character was taken away by this dry, bitterness and sawdust like character and then an acidic finish that just wouldn’t let go. Especially for such low proof.
