Review #: 480
Description: Three Roll Estate Brazilian Style Rum
Spirit: Rum

Background: Inspired by Brazilian Cachaca, this Louisiana rum is made from fresh pressed Louisiana sugar cane juice and uses yeast from Brazil to ferment.

Distillery – Three Roll Estate
Bottler – Three Roll Estate

Brand – Three Roll Estate

Selection – N/A

ABV – 45%

Age – Unaged

Nose – Oh that’s some cane juice alright, bubblegum, olives, rubber, mango, carrots, really fruity and funky and savory all at once.
Taste – Pineapple, red apple, simple syrup, wet grass, crisp water
Finish – Strawberry laffy taffy (including that gummy texture), bit of ash and pepper, plastic

Score: 5
Would I buy a bottle? Not sure on cost but probably

Thoughts: Unmistakably cane, I think it mostly hits what it was going for.  Granted, I haven’t had tons of cachaca, but the ones I had felt a bit more delicate and stronger in grass flavor, where this had a bit more umf and backbone to it, if that makes sense.  It falls off a bit on flavor and finish, but it is definitely interesting.
