Description: Whistlepig Farmstock Rye Crop 003
Spirit: Rye
Background: Whistlepig’s Farmstock Rye is a blend of both their rye and sourced rye. The back label transparently shows the make up. For Crop 003, it includes 52% of 3 year rye from Vermont, 31% of 6 year rye from Canada, and 17% of 10 year rye from Canada
This was tasted at the Whistlepig Tasting Room in Waterbury, VT along side 3 other WP brands. The notes are slightly abbreviated as the room is small and I didn’t want to take away from other visitors waiting their turn.

Would I buy a bottle? No
Thoughts: Well, despite the increase of the younger rye, this at least was an improvement on Crop 002. A little sweeter and more balanced, but it’s still over priced and your money can be better spent elsewhere. I am also not a fan of calling this “Bottled In Barn” as a clear play on “Bottled-In-Bond.” If it followed the legal guidelines, I’d let it slip, but it literally doesn’t even hit one of the qualifications.
