Description: The Ultimate Whisky Company Glenburgie 1995

Background: Here we have a single cask bottling from the Speyside distillery of Glenburgie. Distilled on June 15th of 1995 and then bottled on April 4th of 2019 by The Ultimate Whisky Company. Aged entirely in a hogshead, this is bottled at cask strength without chillfiltration nor coloring.

Nose – Sweet malt, honey, lemon, graham cracker, melon
Taste – Nice and thick, sweet malt and honey, cream, butterscotch, some tropical fruit in the background
Finish – Fruit becomes more defined: guava, passionfruit, malt and pepper linger but a little on the short side.

Would I buy a bottle? Yes
Thoughts: Oh my, this was tasty and interesting. The tropical fruit notes played well with the malt character. Not overly sweet or syrupy, this was almost more refreshing. I wish it was just a little punchier but still great and I’m sad I missed out on getting a bottle as this was very well priced (around $100).
