Description: Rowan’s Creek Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Spirit: Bourbon
Background: Rowan’s Creek, named after the creek that runs through the distillery property, is a Willett Distillery brand, and regarded as the little brother to Noah’s Mill. It used to carry a 12 year age statement, but has since been dropped. Allegedly, it is now 5-15 year barrels batched for it, sourced from an undisclosed distillery (my money is on Heaven Hill), so let’s see how it is.

Would I buy a bottle? Probably
Thoughts: This was quite enjoyable, though definitely on one of the far ends of the bourbon scale with the amount of mint I got on it. The spicy cinnamon definitely comes in strong in the finish too. Borderline hot but I think it works. It will definitely smack you if you don’t sip it right though. My only hesitation at buying another bottle is that there is a lot of competition in the $40-$50 price range that this sits in. If you like spice and some mint, this is solid but maybe not a must buy all the time.
