Description: Old Fitzgerald 16 Year (2020 Release)
Spirit: Bourbon
Background: This is from Heaven Hill and their wheated Old Fitzgerald line. This particular release was distilled in 2004 and aged 16 years before being bottled-in-bond and available exclusively from the distillery. This marks the most expensive bottle I’ve ever purchased ($230) so let’s see if it’s worth it.

Score: 7
Would I buy a bottle? It’s maybe worth it once, but it’s a lot for a bottle and there are better things out there.
Thoughts: There’s a lot behind this. I would say between the age, the complexity, the exclusivity, and the bottle, the cost is at least understandable. I’ve said it with some higher cost bottles, I’m not upset spending it once, but I don’t feel the need to chase after it or get a replacement anytime soon. I’ve enjoyed it and most importantly have shared it with others that make these high cost bottles worth it from time to time.
