Background:

The male counterpart to Kinnaree, this boasts the same stats. Distilled from molasses in a column still, aged 5 years in Thailand and 4 in the UK.  Bottle sales benefit the Thailand Love Foundation. This one is supposed to be heavier and sweeter compared to its sister.  Let’s see

Full disclosure, this sample was provided to me by a friend with connections to Raising Glasses (not employed by them though).  The samples were provided to get my honest feedback.  My thoughts are my own.

ABV – 61.8%

Age – 9 Years

Nose – Slightly burnt caramel, vanilla cake, wet dirt, baking chocolate, a little bit of bitter oak
Taste – Sweet cherry, caramel apple, sweet melon, chocolate and dry oak
Finish – Chocolate syrup, candied ginger, touch of oak and long lasting spice

Score: 7
Would I buy a bottle? Yes

Thoughts: Ok, I definitely get the difference now.  This is heavy and sweet but in a well composed way.  Very impressed with these Thai rums and very reasonably priced.  Very much enjoyed this sample and it left me wanting more.
