Review #242 – Knob Creek Single Barrel: Bankhead Beverage

Review #242 – Knob Creek Single Barrel: Bankhead Beverage

Review #: 242
Description: Knob Creek Single Barrel: Bankhead Beverage
Spirit: Bourbon

Background: The penultimate pour for this small KC Single Barrel series but the 3rd sister cask sharing a distillation date, warehouse and floor as reviews 2 of my last 3 reviews.  This one also was distilled on February 11th, 2004, aged in warehouse W-X, floor F-04, and what looks like rick R-045 until selected by Bankhead Beverage on March 21st, 2019.

Distillery – Jim Beam

Bottler – Jim Beam

Brand – Knob Creek

Selection – Bankhead Beverage

ABV – 60%

Age – 15 Years 1 Month

Nose – A bit more fruity and floral: red apple, musty corn, dry leather, oak, peanut shells
Taste – Brown sugar, caramel, maple syrup, sweet and ripe apple, thick and heavy, but a little narrowed in just on sweetness
Finish – Yep, in comes that Beam roasted peanut, a little bit of sweet stewed stone fruits, oak is present but a little drying, a tiny bit on the hot side

Score: 6
Would I buy a bottle? Yes

Thoughts: While this was a bit more on profile and maybe a bit more of a “straight forward” bourbon from the previous KC samples, it still was plenty delicious.  Paying around $50 for this bottle, I’d still be plenty happy with it.
