Review #: 308
Description: Hayes Parker Reserve
Spirit: Bourbon
Background: My first taste of TerrePure. Believing that they can mimic age through some process so this has only been aged for one year and distilled at OZ Tyler so it does bear the phrase “Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey” but is notorious for being swill that Total Wine pushes and pushes. It can’t be that bad, right?
Distillery – OZ Tyler
Bottler – OZ Tyler
Brand – Hayes Parker
Selection – N/A
ABV – 43%
Age – 1 Year
Nose – Grainy, corn, green wood, stale shortbread cookies. Not overly offensive but not exactly promising
Taste – Just a touch of sweet corn, thin vanilla
Finish – Wet cardboard, tree bark, nail polish remove
Score: 2
Would I buy a bottle? No
Thoughts: Thin, un-redeeming, and the finish is painful. Luckily, there’s not a strong ethanol burn so it doesn’t stick around, but it’s still too long
