Background: This is a silver rum from craft producer Atelier Vie in Louisiana. Created using Louisiana molasses and distilled in a pot still, it has no added sugar or colors and available for about $35 a bottle.

Nose – Sweet molasses, roasted nuts, light chocolate, plantain, damp earth
Taste – Pretty restrained, light sweetness, chocolate, vanilla, banana laffy taffy, cantaloupe
Finish – More molasses comes in with that dark sweetness, bruleed banana, little prickle of spice but not much lingers

Would I buy a bottle? Probably not but this wouldn’t be a bad bottle to keep on your bar for cocktails
Thoughts: A nice example of a straight forward but quality rum from a craft producer. Hard to ask for much more. Nothing overtly off and a decent proof. Bet this makes a great daiquiri.
