Bottler – Buffalo Trace

Brand – Blanton’s

Selection – Bourbon Street Wine & Spirits

ABV – 46.5%

Age – NAS

Nose – Tobacco, mint leaf, pine?, cranberry
Taste – Nothing like the nose, caramel, maple syrup, cherry.  Medium mouthfeel
Finish – Black pepper, leather, cocoa

Score: 7
Would I buy a bottle? Yes, at retail.

Thoughts: This pick was kinda all over the place but it’s a good way.  Kind of covered the whole range of the bourbon spectrum.  It’s easy to drink and enjoyable, just what you want from a whisky when you aren’t going for barrel proof. I really enjoy the fruit I get in Blanton’s. Similar to the Eagle Rare review, it’s good but not much better than the standard offering and I wouldn’t pay a premium for it.
