Review #9 – Canadian Club 12 Year

Review #9 – Canadian Club 12 Year

Review #: 9
Description: Canadian Club 12 Year
Spirit: Canadian Whisky

Background: Another standard bottling, this one coming from the Great North. A blended whisky that has been aged for 12 Years in Ex-bourbon barrels, lets see what over a decade of aging in cold weather and being watered down to 40% does for it.

Distillery – Canadian Club

Bottler – Canadian Club

Brand – Canadian Club

Selection – N/A

ABV – 40%

Age – 12 Years

Nose – Light oak, not much else
Taste – Oak, butterscotch, vanilla
Finish – Oak, vanilla, a little spice

Score: 3
Would I buy a bottle? Probably not

Thoughts: This whiskey summed up: 1- dimensional.  Taste is very average, but lacks all complexity.  There’s just nothing of substance here.  It isn’t gross, but it just isn’t very good.
